Interpersonal group therapy is a powerful method of assisting individuals with positive change. Therapy is assisted by having a group contract that involves each member of the group agreeing to a set of rules such as listening, respecting each other’s points of view, timekeeping, giving constructive feedback, and supporting each other.

Usually, there is a common ground such as grief, addiction, and abuse. The healing process usually works by group members finding identification with each other’s feelings, thoughts, and difficulties. Group members come to realize that they are not alone in their pain and the very act of sharing themselves with others who are also struggling can lead to a positive feeling of belonging and unity.

The group leaders will be there to orchestrate order and give feedback.

You don’t have to go through your life struggles alone.
